Starting late February 2014 weather depending, Dave Garner of Glasgow City Council will be looking to get volunteers from the Clyde Amphibian and Reptile Group out measuring Common frog spawn numbers in key sites around the City. There are ponds in most areas and full training on how to calculate frog spawn clump numbers from the spawn mat can be given to those not sure how to do this.
Surveys can be undertaken during the day, ideally after all of the frogs have left the pond and your records would go towards helping Glasgow City Council in terms of making management decisions so this is quite an important census!
